I thought my last post wasn’t THAT long ago, I was wrong.
Anyway today I bring to you another “How to:” blog post where I explain to you how I wash my makeup brushes, wait for it… FOR FREE! IKR
I’m not saying this is 100% the best, most highy sanitary way of doing it but, if its good enough for your hair, it must be good enough for your brushes…right? I bet some of you are very confused but keep reading and in these very concise steps i will explain to you how to do that thing that you’re meant to do but never end up doing. LETS GO!
STEP 1: RINCEY RINCEY
Okay so there is one slight catch, if you pay your water bill then you’ll have to pay for that stuff that comes out your tap. Either way, take that water and give your dirty ass brushes a good old rincey rincey!
STEP 2: DUNKEY DUNKEY
So, you know those free shampoo bottles you get in hotels that you never use but “steal” anyway and keep for a rainy day? Well, check the weather forecast because it’s time to dig them out (excuse the pun, I found it funny). Take off the lid (duh!) and either dip your brush in or pour it on.
STEP 3: SWISHY SWISHY
Then, take your brush and give it a good old swish around your (hopefully) clean hands. Then your get to see all that dirt come off and feel awful that you hadn’t done it sooner. (FYI: by swish I mean push in circles around your hand, but im sure any other form of swishing does the same trick!)
STEP 4: RINCEY EY REPEATEY
Dunk into a bowl/sink of water and repeat the old swishes into the water. feel free to apply more shampoo and swishing if needs be until water is clear because then your brushes SHALL BE CLEAN!
STEP 5: ADMIREY
Admire your work, boast on twitter, chuck them at your friends because you my friend shall have the cleanest makeup alliances around.

Just a reminder, this technique is what i use, i am not a beauty technician or medical expert so if this goes horribly bad for you (somehow) then i am very sorry, maybe your shouldn’t use that shampoo in the future.
ALSO: A little extra step you can add if using cleanser which apparently makes your brushes softer, I dont tend to do this cause…well…im lazy, but do tell me if this makes any difference.
