Welcome back: 2018 Plans

Hello everybody and welcome to the most depressing month of the year.

The festivities are all but over, the food has all been eaten and now you’re left: fat, broke and maybe a little drunk. January is literally the hangover month. But the good news is all the pain of last year is over and you get to welcome in 2018 with all your chubbiness.

I am joking because although some of you may have put on a tinsey bit of weight, dont worry about it. It’s just evidence of a great December, besides all the stress of january will probably burn it all off again.

I just wanted to write this post to let you know I am still alive, just took a little break over the last month.

But lets get on to my plans for this year cause thats always exciting

I have some very large exams this year that will most likely decide my future and start the next stage of my life (whatever that may be). I will try my absolute hardest to get a post out every week but a pre-warning that this may prove highly difficult during May and June… so forgive me for that little period. If you have any suggestions or offers of blog post ideas you would like to see here on NatsChats do let me know and I promise that now I have an actual working phone I will be updating Instagram regularly with…may I add…a brand new theme (*crowd ooooohhhhhs*)

I feel like this could be the year we finally expand the natschats family as I really would like to take this blog seriously.

In the next few days do keep a look out for my 2017 video I will be uploading to YouTube

I will be doing a separate New Years Resolution reflection post very soon also as I know you guys always enjoy them…

I hope you all got some time off recently and are pushing your way through January well (its nearly over!)

Love you lots

Xx

12 Days of Natsmas: Christmas Day in the life (9)

I mean…it’s pretty self explanatory

I know, I missed a day, Im sorry. However, I have realised that this now means we are on track now as I accidently started the “12 days” a day early, so now it means we’ll finish on christmas eve as planned. My math skills are clearly lacking.

7:30 – (not so) rudely awoken by my mother after my alarm failed.

7:45 – Actually got out of bed and went down stairs to a breakfast of Pain au Chocolat. Very nice, only ate one of them so hid the other in the bin because I was too full and in a rush.

*Cue a day if College “fun” with hardly any christmas events whatsoever.*

2:00 – Driving lesson, I’m pretty sure that my instructor was half an hour early but I may be wrong.

3:30 – Arrived home and had a drink – im not entirely sure why this took so long but…

4:00 – danced around my room whilst deciding what to wear to tonight’s christmas party – whoop, whoop.

Finally settled on a basic grey vest top (which was once my brothers) with a burgundy bralette. Plus my glittery skirt which many of you may have seen in my outfits blog post. And some tights and a grey, bobbly cardigan because it’s bloomin freezing.

4:30- carried on dancing even though I have to leave in 30 mins and have a naked face.

4:38 – finally started doing my make up (filmed a very quick get ready of me that should go on the YouTube Channel at some point!

5:10 – Left house late to pick up friend and take to other friends house

5:54 – began peeling and cutting veg at friends house ready for Friend xmas dinner, had in depth discussion about which way to slice carrots – settled on coins so there appears more!

6:32 – Veg all prepared and in saucepans on hob, ready to begin boiling. I have begin drinking cider at this point as the stress surrounding our hostess is not as contagious as it should be.

6:50 – My “Christmas Dinner” playlist begins and the three of us decide where we will sit on the table (together).

7:10 – Guests begin arriving, veg begins to boil and Cauli-broc is put in oven.

7:30 – Yorkshires arrive and most of the guests are here, many photos are taken by our hostess’ Christmas tree – drinks are in full swing at this point. As some guests are really quite late (and are bringing the pigs in blankets and Potatoes) the veg and oven are turned waaaayyyyy down.

7:55 – food is all dished up and as we begin eating the final guests arrived with the (pre -cooked, thankfully) food.

8:00 – crackers are pulled, jokes are told, life is good.

9:10 – I make a (slightly drunken) speech thanking hostess and cooker and then everyone begins chanting meaning I have to finish off a bottle of lambrini- bad idea. We then open our secret santas – I recieve: Hot Chocolate, Cocktail mixers, another bottle of lambrini and some slipper socks – lovely!

9:50 – after a (not so) quick bathroom and smoke break we begin our quiz after being randomly genorated into teams – that somehow made every couple into the same team accidentally.

10:40 – the quiz is over, my team one – somehow, even though i could see entirely well by this point. We spend the next 20 mins dancing to everyones fave songs (including mans not hot – i mean wow *sarcastic*)

11:10 – we head home and I stumble up to bed, slightly sick and spinning. This is what happens when a party finishes early- you reach your drunk peak when you arrive home – sad really.

Anyway, that was my Christmassy day

I hope you enjoyed that little outlook into my life – this is not a typical day but was very special as I got to celebrate the holidays with my closest friends and eat a hella lot of food

Merry Natsmas!

12 Days of Natsmas: PLAN (1)

HAPPY 2 YEARS TO NATSCHATS ON WORDPRESS!!!

Hello my lovelies, and Welcome to the first day of Natsmas!!!

That’s right, I didn’t think I could hack the full 24 days of blogmas however, 12 days seems much more manageable and I even get to throw in a play on words.

So day one of Natsmas as you can see by the above title is a plan, I thought this would be a good idea so that everyone reading would be able to get excited with me about all the lovely stuff we have coming up!

If you have any further suggestion, I am open to all ideas as I do have a bit of room to move stuff around, but, for now, here is the line up for the next 11 days UNTIL XMAS!!!

2) Fave Baubles and Decorations

3) Surviving Awkward Christmas moments

4) Xmas Presents

5) Christmas Outfits (Formal and (Party)

6) Top Christmas Movies

7) Fave Christmas Food

8) Christmas Cocktails/Mocktails

9) Day in the life

10) Get ready with me: Winter Edition

11) Christmas Baking Recipe

12) Top Christmas songs 2017 (Case study ratings by a series of people from different age groups)

Phew! That’s alotta work to do, I better get cracking. The twelfth day Christmas song challenge has already taken up a lot of time and I am very excited to see the results myself, if you would like to be part of it please do let me know and I will sent you the list! There will be a few videos over on YouTube to go along with some of these Blog Posts if you fancy giving them a watch, so keep an eye out.

Also, I would just like to say sorry about the lack of Instagram posts but that is because I have had to delete Instagram for a little while, I should have it back after Natsmas tho so it will be back again for 2018!

How crazy is it that there’s less than a month left of 2017, it feels like only a few weeks ago I was welcoming it and now its over. I am scared, but also very happy to see what the new year bring as I can guarantee it will be one of the most eventful years of my young life. I will keep you updated every step of the way though!

See you tomorrow,

Get Over It: Short story/Advice article

I know, im updating the old blog AGAIN! What has gotten into me?

Anyway I wrote a short story/advice article thingy which I though you may wish to read, I dedicate it to anyone going through heartbreak. I hope you enjoy it as I certainly do, it apparently should take you 3 WHOLE MINS to read so don’t worry about taking up too much time out of your very busy lives. Enjoy and see you soon, Xx

Confusion. That’s the primary source of emotion. Why? Just, why? You thought things were going so well, clearly you were wrong. It doesn’t matter how they did it. It just hurts that they did. No matter what the inspirational quotes and magazines tell you, at this moment, you do need them. Whether it’s been one date or 143, if you’re divorced, newly single or have always technically been single but wishing for more. It hurts.

Of course like any big grievance you go through the famous 5 stages: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance. Everyone becomes a love guru telling you this, but they always seem to miss out the most important question that any person who’s in pain wants to know. How long? Obviously you know from any lecture, that nothing lasts forever. But, forever is a very long time and I’d kind of like this torture to end sooner rather than later.

My story is no different. We were on our 14th date, 36th if you count the chilled days at each other’s houses (I did). We were coming to the abrupt end of a coffee break together in our lunch break. The he told me. Another girl was it? Longing to be single? Moving away? Nope. None of those Rom com excuses. Lesson one anyone learns with love is that it isn’t like the movies, obviously, that’s why this is a book. One day or another, they will dump you. Doesn’t matter if it’s a he or a she or just an it, everything ends. No use in dwelling on it though because it won’t happen just once. Even those who marry their first love are lying to themselves. That was not their first love because love comes in all forms and positions. When you’re just a baby you love your parents, for some of you fortunate few, you still do, somewhere under that shield of adulthood and independence.

Since then it’s been the latest boyband member, the one with the cheeky smile was always my fave. Or maybe you were more of a mysterious cast member type, the one in a popular TV show or soap opera where he wasn’t a bad boy, just misunderstood. They both come to an end, either through finding their own love interest or you simply came to your senses and realised their whole life that you saw, was just an act. At least you did grow out of it; some people are forever fantasizing about being the one who gets chosen out of a crowd of millions.

And then there’s the school crushes, wow, they never get old do they. If you don’t like anyone, you’re lying to yourself. There’s always that one boy that catches your eye and then makes your mouth drop (and maybe even your pants if you’re lucky enough to have a reciprocated crush – never happens). And that brings the cycle all the way back to the current situation, a break up. Hurts, yeah?

But don’t you see, you’ve loved before, and thus, you will love again. You may even be broken up with again, or maybe this time, you’ll be the one to do the dumping. Either way, everyone goes through it, heartbreak is tough but, it’s the only way to know you’ve truly loved. Knowing that you once have loved is better than never loving, so, in your own time, under your own circumstances, you will…

Get Over It.

Hello You: My Readers

Let’s not dwell on the fact that it’s been over a month because IT’S CHRISTMAS! Well… nearly

Anyway I just wanted to say:

Hi

Salut

Здравствуй

Hallo

Oi

Haigh

Привіт

Hai

cześć

I have just become aware that to many countries the website may have just translated that as hello…many, many times. But anyway if not I thought you may appreciate to know that I am tremendously grateful for the fact that I technically can claim to have viewers all over the world. In order of amount of views my analytics tell my that this blog has reached: the UK (obvs), the US, France, Russia, Germany, Portugal, Ireland, Ukraine, Indonesia and Poland! how exciting is that? What makes it even excitinger… not a word but oh well, is the fact that 62.3% of you are from a different country to my own. I find that so fascinating and so thought I would share it with you.

How crazy is it that we can reach someone thousands of miles away with the click of a button? MAD! I feel like I now have friends all over the world right now which is pretty neat. I wish I could come and visit every one of you cause I must say my audience comes from some pretty beautiful counties.

For example did you know that there are over 400 types of cheese made in France – I mean WHAT? I have never wanted to swim across the Channel as much as I do right now, that’s alotta fromage!

Also Russia holds the longest railway in the world which I love because a fun fact about me is the hereditary gene of a love for trains (from my dad). But also you have the biggest McDonalds so after all that training you may need a cheeky McFlurry!

Furthermore, Expatica tells me “German law maintains that it’s a basic human instinct to be free and therefore, prisoners have the right to escape jail.” Which I think is pretty damn beautiful, look at you and your gorgeous human rights and freedom and aww…

Recently I have actually been thinking aboyut where to go on holiday next year and well, maybe in the comments if you have any ideas you may wish to tell me. Like PLEASE I need somewhere a bit different – I dont wanna end up in Magaluf or Ibiza (even if they are beautiful Islands).

See you soon my little universal angels

Blogmas Day 5: My Top TV Shows

I am a Magpie,

I just realised today that a fellow blogger friend of mine is doing Blogmas! And literally I am stealing it from her…I am so sorry A! I have no idea why I never thought of it before? If you’ve read some of my other post’s you’ll notice that I was toying with the idea of Vlogmas but knew I wouldnt have anything to actually film…

I’ve had this blog for over 2 years now and eventhough I know I havent been great at updating you guys I feel like it a great way to document my life. So from this day till christmas day I PLEDGE:

I will upload a blog post every single day!

So this if the first post (even if it is 5 days late)

My Top TV Show Picks:

As it’s the festive season you may find yourself being more and more tempted to instead of going out and socialising, simply staying in and binge watching miscellaneous TV shows (especially the christmas specials) here is a list a have compiled for those of you who are a little stuck on what to watch this holiday season.

  • F.R.I.E.N.D.S – this will forever be a favourite of mine. My eldest brother first got me into it as he was obsessed and has the full box set. Its all about a group of Friends really (clues in the name) who live in New York and get into some hilarious and often very relate able situations. You will fall in love with the characters and are assured to laugh at some point in each episode.
  • SUBURGATORY – This amazing show is all about a teen girl who moved out of her beloved city to the suburbs. You follow her as she leads the life of a city girl in a suburb town. She goes to a new school, and tackles love, freindships and family. But dont be confused this is not your typical main girl character…like seriously she’s pretty kick ass!
  • GLEE – an absolute classic! If you love singing and dancing then you’ll love this show. Its all about a singing group in a high school and all the members juggling growing up whilst trying to win their next competition.
  • SKINS – This may be a little less tame (drugs/alcohol/sex included) but I think it’s fantastic for those of you aged 16 – 18 as you may be experiencing the same types of things. The series is all about a group of friends going through their college years in the UK (that’s 16-18 year old’s fyi) and although I wouldn’t recommend you copying a lot of their actions its a great programme and you find yourself getting attached to characters you would never dream of talking too in real life.
  • MISFITS – A slightly more tamer version of SKINS but with the added twist of…superpowers…yeah I know sounds lame. But seriously after I finished Skins there was a whole in my life I never thought I wouldn’t fill but then I was recommended this and OMG. Its seriously addictive! (Nathan = Bae [if you know, you know]).
  • MIRANDA – Miranda Heart will forever be my favourite comedian and I feel like around the Christmas season you need a good chuckle to warm up. There is a serious overdose of British comedy where you follow a woman and her friends and family as she tries to get through life. This is definitely my favourite out of all these to watch at Christmas as it is very family friendly so you can invite your whole clan round to join you in hysterics.

I am aware that all of these are pretty old and im pretty sure none of them are being created anymore but that means you can finish the whole series’ without panicking about cliffhanger’s.

I hope you enjoyed these and I shall see you tomorrow!

HAPPY BLOGMAS!

How To Survive: Black Friday

Now, I may live in the UK, so our Black Friday’s are not as extreme as some places (ahem America) but us Brits do like to shop, we just do it in a much safer manner…normally. But on Black Friday it seems that our stereotypical calm and collected behaviour goes out the window. So with that in mind, this is your guide on how to make it through…

If you’ve been living under a rock you may not have noticed that the Black Friday Deals have already started, which is odd as Friday is tomorrow, but I guess the shops think that this way they can spread out the chaos instead of packing it all in one day (messy).

But to start off my Help Guide, I should really explain what this mystical day entails…

According to Wikipedia “Black Friday is the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States (the fourth Thursday of November). Since 1932, it has been regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season in the U.S., and most major retailers open very early (and more recently during overnight hours) and offer promotional sales”

So yeah… now ya know,

This is for those of you that dont want anything to do with Black Friday:

STAY AWAY!!! My only advice for you people is to steer clear of any shopping that day (come on its just one day) and I wouldnt make any plans to go out cause you just know the roads will be jammed with holiday shoppers. So just use it as an excuse to stay in Friday night (we all knew you were anyway).

For those who want to shop still but dont want any human contact what so ever (#same)

Here are my top websites to shop on Friday:
  • Superdrug – daily deals until Tuesday (upto 60% off) as well as loads of other deals/bundles and free stuff!!!
  • ASOS – 20% off EVERYTHING with the code: GOGOGO and free worldwide delivery!
  • Debenhams – No VAT on anything and upto 50% on clothing plus loads of other dealerino’s!
  • Amazon – SO.MANY.DEALS!
  • John Lewis – arent even revealing their deals till tomorrow (so you know they’re gonna be sweeeeet)
  • Forever 21 – They’ve been very hush hush about this but it turns out that on top of their already amazing sales, they’ve added another 30% off!!!
  • H&M – 50% off!
  • New Look – Up to 50% off (but just go online anyway just to see their amazing website banner XD)
  • Top Shop – Up to 50 % off … Im sensing a trend here…but they have free shipping too so…
And Im guessing all your other favourites will have, oh i dunno… up to 50% off?

For those braving the storm:

Good Luck!
JK…
There are gonna be some amazing deals on the highstreet and in shopping centres so you’re sure to save a lot of money but my tips for you are:
  • Make sure you actually want to buy the item, (your not just buying yourself a TV cause it 80% off when you already have a bigger and better one at home)
  • Dont get Stressy, if you know you hate shopping, large crowds or disorder then dont chance it and if you can feel yourself getting uncomfortable, LEAVE! There will be thousands of sales throughout the years so you’re not gonna miss out oo much
  • Remember to eat and drink (seriously of you faint infront of a 90% off electronics deal there is a good chance you will be trampled)
I hope this helped and whatever you’re planning to do tomorrow I hope you have a great time. Stay safe everyone and good luck!
XX
P.s. Remember to tell me all your SWEET DEALS!
P.p.s. Sorry if your working tomorrow – sending even more luck!
Oh and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Story Time: Holiday Horrors -Food Poisoning and Ear Infections

This summer I went to Thailand which was probably the best holiday I’ve ever been on with my family. My favorite part of course was meeting, feeding and cleaning a group of Asian elephants with Elephant Hills. But of course lucky old me I couldn’t just have a great time without stumbling into some (painful) mishaps.

Numero UNO!
The day before we went to Elephant Hills we were in Krabi which is a beautiful place filled with palm tree’s, beaches and monkeys (but don’t get me started on the monkeys). This would be the ideal place for a honeymoon or just somewhere to go if you like relaxing places with long white beaches. There was actually a couple getting married and the room opposite us were having their hen do their (not my personal preference for that but hey-ho!) Anyway on the last night we decided to go to the hotels Japanese Restaurant for dinner…big mistake. Not only did my Dad think he was genuinely going to die after a mouthful of Horseradish (or Wasabi, we’re not sure) but the afternoon after I started to feel…strange. We had just got home from THE BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE (aka the elephant meeting) and I was feeling exhausted. We hadn’t done a lot of exercise but I just thought it was something to do with the jet lag or something so I just chilled. We had already had dinner at this point and so as it slowly got worse, I went to bed for a little while. Every single one of my bones ached and even when I wasn’t moving I was in a ridiculous amount of pain. I also got a temperature (which worried my mum ngl) so was freezing and shivering even though it was about 34*C even at night! So while everyone else was checking out the camps swimming pool and generally enjoying themselves, I was lying painfully in bed in the tent. Every evening they had evening “entertainment” and after a few hours my family came back to see if I wanted to join them. I decided to because that night a local school were gonna do a dance for us and I love being part of the community when I go to different places. BUT…Literally as I sat there I could feel the pain overwhelming me and a I simply burst out crying because I hated the fact that I couldn’t enjoy this amazing experience. I went back to bed and in the morning “got rid of” the food that had made me ill (TMI I know).
The Second Wave…
Towards the end of our Trip we were in Koh Samui and I woke up with the feeling that my ear was scrunched up. I carried on with my day and didn’t think anything of it but over the next few day a pain grew and it got to the stage where I couldn’t move my jaw at all without a terrible pain going through me. When we were out for dinner I started to tear up (IKR it was an emotional holiday) so me and me mam went to a Thai pharmacy to see if they could do anything. They prescribed me strong AF antibiotics and ear drops (year apparently their medicine rules are a lot more leaneant than ours). I was in constant pain for about a week (great way to end the holiday) but it did very, very slowly get better and I can honestly say that is the most pain I have ever been in (and Im a girl who get severe period cramps). I forgot to mention that this also meant I was death in one ear for a few weeks during and after which my friends all laughed at when I came back and struggled to hear them. Speaking of which when I was home I could feel my ear pain come back and I thought hell no! This cannot be happening again, PLEASE GOD NO! So I went to the doctors at home and she looke din my ear (supprisingly the first person who had) and said “yeah you’ve still got an infection”. Que more drugs and ear drops and deafness. I hated this whole experience and wouldnt wish it on anyone.

As im not entirely sure where I got it from (most likely the hotel swimming pool [eww]) the only advice I can give is to get it checked out straight away. No matter where you are in the world you should have some form of medical help, the pharmacy I went to in Koh Samui may not have cured me but it sure did help. Then as soon as you get home (no matter if you think you’re fine aggain) book an appointment with you GP/doctor and get them to clear you because you dont want any horrible illness’ coming back. Especially as most people will come home and go back to work/school.

There you go, there are my two medical problems I faced in Thailand. I have loooooooaaaaaaaddddssss more stories to tell so if you want more please do tell me or comment any of your holiday horrors!

see you soon!

Vlogmas?

If any of you read my blogger: (mynattynatworld.blogspot.co.uk) then you’ll know that recently I’ve been watching a lot of zoellas old vlogmasses which has put me in a really Christmassy mood, it’s terrible I know as its only just September but I’m afraid I can’t help it. It doesn’t help the fact that I absolutely love Autumn and am so happy now it’s come (I am literally sitting on my couch with a blanket around me even though it’s sunny outside – that’s how mad I am)!

Anyway this got me thinking that I would love to attempt my own vlogmasses this year. There are some definite problem though which are stopping me;

– the point? Many people would ask what the point of me doing vlogmasses if no one watches them (bearing in mine that at the moment I get roughly 30 views per video)  but then again, at the moment at least, I’m using my blog and YouTube channel as a sort of diary to look back on in the future

– content? I am currently in college so the first half of my vlogmasses would be very boring and dull for me and the viewers, also I don’t have a lot of money so wouldn’t be able to go out as often as I wish I could which is a real bummer

Basically I could really use some help so if you reading this is feeling especially generous today then would you mind possibly either going to my YouTube channel and taking a look or commenting on this post your thoughts?

Much love xx
